Building a tutor discovery and booking marketplace.

Journeyhorizon built Tutor Koala to help students find, compare and book tutors online, including tutor approval and marketplace booking functionality.

Platform and marketplace model

Tutor Koala was created to solve the problem of finding a tutor. Creating an accessible, convenient and safe platform where Parents can easily search for specific tutors. The problem of geography is solved as tutors can be located anywhere. Online lessons that can fit around your time. You also have the benefit of a community rating system. The online equivalent of a recommendation. Simple and highly effective.

The Journeyhorizon team worked with David to build and launch Tutor Koala. We continue to provide support and maintenance to David as he builds out his marketplace.

Journeyhorizon’s engagement

Marketplace development, tutor onboarding and approval, transaction process, booking panel and ongoing support. The delivery used Sharetribe marketplace for tutor discovery and booking.
